One of his happiest civic endeavors was distributing on Christmas day, food and toys that family and friends had collected, to hundreds of needy families.
His greatest joy was sharing all the holidays with family and friends. He is pre deceased by his parents, his 2 sisters Jeanette Folloder and Selma Rosenthal and his son in law Doyle Perry.
Additionally he is survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the assistance of Jose Ramirez and his team for all their loving care.
I was so sad to hear about Joe. You all have always been two of our favorite people in Houston and we have such great admiration for you and your family.

His sisters said they would give up their allowance for life if his parents would send him to military school. They were unsuccessful, and he graduated from San Jacinto High School. He started college at The University of Texas and, after his first year, he joined the Navy where he proudly served on a destroyer escort in the China Sea.
At the end of the war, he completed his education with a degree from The University of Texas. Joe then joined Zuber Insurance Agency in , where he remained for the next 65 years.
